The Drugstore Mascara You Should Definitely Own
Even if you haven’t used Maybelline’s Great Lash, you probably recognize the iconic pink and green bottle. Makeup artists, bloggers, influencers and celebs alike have this little beauty in their makeup bags.
This was the very first mascara I ever tried, when I was a naive six grader putting on makeup for the very first time. Over 15 years later and I’m still using it. Naturally I try other brands and even other types of Maybelline’s mascara, but this one lives in my bag and is my go-to for everyday wear.
My mom is the one who first got it for me, she’s been using it for decades. In fact, when I was in high school, she taught me to darken my eyebrows with it, long before Cara DeLavigne made full brows a thing. Of course, I hated it at the time and thought she was crazy and that the look was too dramatic (ah, teenagers), but now I use it for that exact purpose when I’m out of my brow product.
The brand has shared that Great Lash is the best-selling mascara in the US, and one is purchased every six seconds. With its subtle lengthening formula and classic sized brush, it’s no surprise. I get Brownish Black so it’s not super striking, but still is a lewk and stands out against any eyeliner shade.
So if you’re looking for a mascara that will stand the test of time (literally and figuratively, I never have a problem with it flaking or smudging), check out this baby at your local drugstore.
